HOMECOMING 2009
Following the Scottish Government initiative the Publications Committee have looked at some information to help plan for Homecoming 2009. They will be bringing a Report to The Session in the autumn with proposals for special events and an exhibition to link up with Homecoming 2009.
WORLD CHURH GROUP
Out Mission Partners The Rev Alistair and Mrs Mary Morrice are retiring this year a special event organized by Interserve who helps support them will take place in Kemnay on August. Details will be found in this Kirk News.
LOAVES AND FISHES.
It was noted that the Loaves and Fishes Coffee Shop is fully complying with Environmental Health regulations.
PREBYTERY ELDER
The three year term of Mr Alan Gorvett as Presbytery Elder comes to an end this year. Mr Gorvett was thanks for his service to Presbytery and supporting the wider work of the church. An new Presbytery Elder will be appointed.
St ANNES CHURCH
A visiting Bishop fro the world angelical union will be visiting St Anne’s Church before attending the Lambeth Conference an invitation as extended to anyone attend St Anne’s Church on Sunday 13 July to meet the Bishop.
PRESBYTERY
Mr Gerald Moore has been appointed Interim Presbytery Clerk until September and will take over from the Rev Euan Glen soon after.
The Rev Euan Glen has been nominated as the Moderator of Presbytery for the year 2008 – 2009.
A conference for Congregations will be held on 3 October in support of the Presbytery Plan.

BOARD MATTERS
The following items were brought to the Congregational
Board in June 2008.
 

CHURCH PROJECT
The Project Group reported that they are awaiting returns of tenders before a builder is chosen and work commences. A special meeting of the Congregational Board will be called to present options on a number of items to be included in the project.
NEW COMMITTEES
A list of committee members was presented and approved. Conveners for Committees are: Stewardship and Finance ~ Mr Ian Rigby and Mrs Helen Lal; Fabric ~ Mr Graham Collie; Social ~ Mr Alan Gorvett; Publications ~ Mrs Margaret Maclean and Mrs Rita Custard; Church Centre ~ Mr Frazer Simpson; Church Building Project ~ Minister
PAPER ON GIFTS
The Congregational Board set up a small group to provide guidance on gifts to the Church. The Group will report in September.
PAPER ON LIABILITIES
The board considered a paper sent down by the Law Department of the Church giving guidance on Trustees of the Congregation.  Members of the Session and Board are Trustees of the Congregation and have special responsibilities which were noted.
WATER and WASTE CHARGES
Letters have been received from a number of MSP’s and the First Minister noting our concern about charges for Church building.
WEB PAGE
A significant number of people are visiting our web page, an average of 950 every month since January of this year. The web page is administered from the Church Office. Items for the web page should be sent to the Office.
RETIRAL
Mrs Margaret Urquhart has indicated her intention to retire as Clerk to the Congregational Board.
