POLICY STATEMENT

The Church of Scotland has a deep concern for the wholeness and well being of each individual. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of all people, regardless of age, who come into contact with the Church and its organizations. It is the responsibility of each individual within the fellowship of the Church to prevent the physical, sexual or emotional abuse of children and young people.

SAFEGUARDING COURSES

All those working with our children and young people are expected to have completed a course provided by the Church of Scotland.  There is a  certificate awarded for all who complete the course. They must also apply for Disclosure. For more information from our Safeguarding Office through the church office click here

CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH CO-ORDINATOR

Mrs Suzanne Bunton was appointed in June 2006 and is responsible for coordinating the work among children and young people providing support for leaders and helping to organize events.

YOUTH COUNCIL

The Youth Council is made up of leaders of groups and meets from time  to time to provide support.

YOUTH FORUM

Representatives of children’s and youth groups meet to share ideas and organize events.

ALL AGE ACTIVITIES

We aim to have as many All Age activities as possible eg Rainbow Party in October and the Summer BBQ in June.

FIRST STOP

At one time called the Parents and Toddlers Group they meet twice a  week on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings from 9.30 am to 11.00 am in the Church Centre. The group caters for children from birth to 4 years of age and provides a safe environment for them. It also provides a point of contact and support for parents and carers who occasionally have social activities. The group meets in the Fellowship Hall.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

There is a crèche and Children’s time each Sunday at the 9.30 ALL AGE SERVICE. Children have an activity pack prepared for each week on the theme of the Service. During July and August at the 10.00 am Service there is a Crèche and Children’s Activity Pack.

KALEIDOSCOPE

A monthly children’s Bible club packed with craft, games, snack, stories, drama, quizes, DVD’s and other activities  Meets on first Saturday of the month from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm at Kemnay Church Centre. Open to all  children aged 4 - 12 years.

GIRLS’ BRIGADE

This group has been running for many years in Kemnay and provides a meeting point for girls of all ages. The programme is a mixture of physical, social, education and spiritual elements that encourages the development of the whole person. The Company meets on a Friday evening from 6.30 - 8.00 pm

YOUTH GROUP                                                                                                                                               Meets every second Sunday evening (look for information on Sunday order sheet) at 6.00 pm through to 8.30 pm for Pizza and chat and activities.                                                                                                                                 Open to all young people aged 10 years and over.

ROCK SOLID

This group for young people ages 10 – 16 years old, meets on Tuesday evenings 7.00 pm – 8.30 pm in the Friendship Hall at the Church Centre. There is fun, messy games and tuck shop. Each week has a twist on a theme. There is a chance for the youngsters to go to monthly Breathe (Youth for Christ) Events.

SUNDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP                                                                                                                         A group for children aged 10 upwards who meet every second Sunday from 6 - 8.30 pm for pizza and a relaxed evening of talking about Christian issues

SIMCHA DANCE GROUP

This group, mainly of young folk over 8 years old, meets on Tuesday evening from 3.45 pm – 4.45 pm.  There is a chance to express themselves in worship to God, through Dance & Mime.

PUPPET GROUP

A new puppet group has been started offering the opportunity for those interested to come together to provide sketches for worship and general entertainment. A collection of puppets are available and the grpoup have already taken part in worship services and other occassions.

BADMINTON

Coaching for Secondary: Monday 6.15 - 7.30 at Kemnay Academy. Coaching for Primary: 3.40 - 4.50 at Church Centre. Badminton Club: Wednesday 7.30 - 9.30 at Church Centre. For more information please contact the Church office.  

HOLIDAY CLUB

Usually in the summer either for a week or spread over the holiday period the Summer Holiday Club provides an interesting packed programme activities for children of Primary School age.

SUMMER MISSION

From time to time we invite groups to help with our Summer Mission. Although mainly aimed at teenagers and young people there are opportunities for all ages to come together.
