CARE OF THE CHURCH

CARE WORKING GROUP                                                                                     This group is made up of Elders from the Kirk Session along with others interested or involved in the care work of the Church. They work to a Budget given by the Kirk Session and they report to the Kirk Session.

HOSPITAL VISITATION                                                                                        The Minister and Elders make a weekly visit to the Aberdeen and Inverurie Hospitals and will visit anyone from the Parish (members and non members).

ELDERLY AND HOUSEBOUND VISITATION                                            There is a regular programme of elderly and housebound visitation by the Minister (and also through Care Visitors) to members of the congregation who are over 80 years of age or housebound for some reason. Names are usually passed on by the Elder but the Minister would be happy to hear about people who should be visited.

ELDER’S CARE AREAS                                                                                         The Parish is divided into CARE AREAS each with two or three Elders who has the responsibility of Pastoral care. An Elder will visit from time to time and provide support for the family.

PRAYER CHAIN                                                                                                     This prayer support is for everyone in need. Prayer requests are passed on to one member of the group who then telephones the next and so on until the whole group is praying for the person and problem.                                                                            This is done very confidentially. The person making the prayer request will ask permission first and agree the prayer request. Prayer requests can be made at any time.

PRAYER SLIPS                                                                                                     Available at the Church Centre and also the Church. These Prayer Slips are gathered weekly and people prayed for.

PRAYER CALENDAR                                                                                          Each month a Prayer Calendar is provided for the work of the Churches in Kemnay. Prayers cover the work of both congregations, overseas work, things of local and national concern etc. Members can have items for the Prayer included in the Calendar. SERVICES OF HEALING                                                                      Occasional Services of healing are held with the opportunity for prayers to be said for healing and for the ministry of laying on of hands and the anointing of oil. A leaflet is available explaining what we understand about healing from the Biblical Teaching and our approach to this ministry in Kemnay. Contact the Minister
