New Church Logo and Pulpit Fall

Primary Logo Secondary Logo

Sometime ago our Publicity committee were invited to look at a New Logo to mark the renovation work being completed at the Church in Fraser Place. Some ideas were passed on to Neil Custard who then developed for us a new logo that has now been approved by the Congregational Board for all publicity used by ourselves as a congregation.
Like all logos or marks it tells a story. The main body of the logo reflects the style of the North Window and also the new oak and glass screens in the Church. Within the window you can see a cross and particularly the St Andrew Cross.
Below the widow and cross there is a burning bush (it is also to be found on the Wooden Lectern in the Church where a Bible is read from each Sunday) which reminds us of the Word of God that came to Moses in the desert emphasizing the centrality of the Word of God in all we do as a Congregation.
The blue colour is sometimes described as Church of Scotland blue’ since it is used by the Church in much of its publications.

Pulpit-Fall

The Pulpit Fall developed from the Logo and with cross and window theme. Underneath this are the letters A and O which reminds us of Jesus Christ the first and the last, the beginning and end. This emphasizes the centrality of Jesus Christ in the preaching of the Church from the Pulpit.
The Color of the Fall reflects a color taken from the North Window and used in carpeting and feature walls of the new colors scheme of the Church building. It suggests a warmth and majesty about it.
There will be contrasting Book Marks for the Pulpit, Lectern and small Bible on the Communion Table. The Pulpit fall and Book Marks and being made by Mrs Jackie Campbell who made a number of our Banners.
