JULY
Thurs 29th Heavenly Father, we give thanks for the work done at Loaves and Fishes during the busy summer months. We give thanks for all the volunteers who cheerfully work there showing Your love to all their customers. Fri 30th Lord God, You alone can quiet our worries and anxieties. Thank You for a peace which passes all understanding and for the joy that is ours through Jesus’ sacrificial triumph over sin and death. By His wounds we are healed and made righteous before You.
Sat 31st Loving Father, we thank You for the unexpected lovely surprises that we encounter as we walk through life. We pray for people in our world that need one of those surprises at this time.
AUGUST
Sun 1st Thank You, God, for the nights and the sounds of creation all around us. Thank You for the beauty of flowers and trees in summer splendour. Lord God we pray for the congregation of St Anne’s and ask that you be with them as they celebrate Your creation with a day of praise and a festival of flowers. Mon 2nd Lord God, we remember students who are expecting exam results in the next few days and ask that You grant wisdom and guidance for the future, especially if they have not done as well as they hoped and now face difficult decisions.
Tues 3rdLord God, we thank You for the gift of music and give thanks for all who lead the praise in our church. We ask that You, Lord, will guide an organist to come forward and assist with the rota for organ playing.
Wed 4th Heavenly Father we pray for Scripture Union as they lead and support Summer Camps and Missions for young people. We pray for their ongoing work supporting school groups and promoting Bible use for all ages.
Thu 5th Lord Jesus, thank You for the hope we have because of our trust in You and because of Your loving provision for us.
Fri 6th Heavenly Father, please draw near to British Service Mean and Women, especially those who are currently stationed in Afghanistan. We pray for their protection, and peace of mind for those who love them. Please comfort the families who have been bereaved.
Sat 7th O God, give us patience, strengthen our faith and renew our life when life is difficult. We trust You for our very lives.
Sun 8th Helper of the helpless, empower us to trust You more. Make us aware of Your hand holding ours. Let us be assured that when all other helpers fail, You remain present.
Mon 9th Loving Father we pray for the children who will gather this week at the Church Centre for the holiday club. We ask that You will be with the leaders and children as they share in the joy of Knowing You.
Tues 10th Lord Jesus who blessed the sick and dying we pray for all who work within the medical profession. Help them to care with compassion for all who are brought into their care.
Wed 11th Lord God, on this the start of Ramadan we pray that devout Muslims who truly seek God may be led to Him in Jesus, the Way, The Truth and the Life. We pray also for the situation of Christian minorities in Islamic countries.
Thu 12th Dear Jesus, Your power is combined of love, grace, kindness and goodness. May more of us want your kind of power so we can bring joy to others, especially joy to You.
Fri 13th Thank the Lord the work in Zambia established by Sisters Jane and Dorothy continues and that women, children and young adults have been enabled to face a future of hope not despair, of joy and laughter not tears and sadness.
Sat 14th Thank You, God, for Your loving care that will never end. Thank You for the promise that You will never leave us.
Sun 15th Lord Jesus, You called fishermen to Your ministry because You knew that through their commitment You would be able to build a church. Thank You for choosing them and for selecting us. Help us to give You our all, so that You may become everything to us.
Mon 16th Father God, You have placed us in a world which can supply all our needs. Hear our prayers for all on whom we depend for our food, the management of the country side and husbanding its resources.
Tues 17th Heavenly Father, we pray for all teachers and children starting at a new school, whether as a beginner or moving on to Secondary. May they quickly settle down and make new friends.
Wed 18th Lord God, we give thanks for the continuing building up of the links between ourselves and our friends in Minyara. We give thanks for our members who have recently returned from there and are now sharing their experiences with us.
Thu 19th We thank You, Lord, that we can come into Your presence through prayer at any time of the day or night. We thank You that You are always there for us and pray that we might be more like You in our daily lives.
Fri 20th Lord God, we thank You for the precious gift of life and the priceless blessing of faith. In the midst of pain and loss grant us healing and comfort. Throughout those times of weeping and mourning enable us also to experience laughter and dancing.
Sat 21st Lord Jesus Christ, our friend and brother, may we know You more clearly, love You more dearly and follow You more nearly.
Sun 22nd Dear Lord, we are grateful for Your understanding. Thank You for loving us in spite of all we do that does not please You. Help us to make good choices and to love others without judging.
Mon 23rd Pray for restoration of peace among the groups of Central Asia where evangelical Christian churches have tried to be examples of peacemakers. Ask for protection too for expatriate workers like Kirsty Buchan: give thanks that her project is able to continue meantime despite more difficulties with the authorities.
Tues 24th Heavenly Father we pray for the ladies of the Good Morning Group as they meet again to share fellowship and learning together.
Wed 25th Lord, help us to see Your comfort and love when we are facing difficult times. Remind us that though the road seems uncertain and full of danger, You are always with us.
Thu 26th Lord God, we remember people suffering from dementia and other age related illnesses and pray that suitable help will be available to them. We pray for the families who have to cope with their loved ones suffering this distressing illness.
Fri 27th Patient, loving and amazing God, thank You for Your ways of working in our lives.
Sat 28th Pray for Christians who suffer brutal treatment because of their faith. Pray for guards working in prison camps that God would encourage them to show mercy to those imprisoned there.
Sun 29th Father, help us to grasp the truth that without prayer there is no power. Help us to avoid the fussiness and to find the fruitfulness that comes alone through prayer.
Mon 30th Give thanks for the developing work of Paul and Cathie Burgess in sending children’s Bibles to Christian families in Pakistan. They are pleased that they were able revisit some of them recently and to help again in theological programmes which also continue at home and on-line.
Tues 31st Dear Lord, help us to see our world the way You see it. When troubles arise help us to remember that You are greater than anything that may happen to us. SEPTEMBER
Wed 1st Loving father, Comfort those who mourn. Console them in their grief and give them strength to bear their sorrow. Help them to express their love for those who died by their friendship and service to others.
Thu 2nd Lord God, we pray for all groups as they begin to plan for the coming winter. Guide them in their plans as that they meet in the Church Centre they will be aware of Your love.
Fri 3rd O God, have pity on those who are in need. Give them food and clothes for their bodies. Clothe them also in Your Holy Spirit.
Sat 4th Dear Lord, help us to take each day as a gift from You and enjoy the gifts that You freely give to us.
