CHRISTIAN AID This is our main means of support for the poor of the world. Christian Aid week is held each May. We join with our friends of the Roman Catholic Church and the Scottish Episcopal Church in Kemnay is supporting a Nearly New shop, filling Smartie tubes and a sponsored walk by primary age school children and raise about ten thousand pounds each year.
TEAR FUND We support Tear Fund during our Harvest Thanksgiving weekend and invite members and friends to give a donation through envelopes. In 2006 we gave over five hundred pounds.
TEARCRAFT Catalogues for Tear Craft good are available usually at the beginning of October for goods to be ordered for Christmas. This year we sold seventeen hundred pounds of goods in support of crafts people in the developing world. Traidcraft foostuffs are sold at Church after Services. Traid craft goods are also sold in May at the Christian Aid Nearly New Sale.
FAIRTRADE Kemnay Church is a Fairtrade Church and aims to use Fairttrade goods as far as possible for the Church Centre Catering and Loaves and Fishes.
SCOTTISH BIBLE SOCIETY The Bible society is supported by a number of members of the Congregation through Bible a Month and other projects.
SUFFERING CHURCH FOCUS GROUP This Group meets to share concerns for Christians experiencing persecution and offer support through petitions, protests, prayer and posting cards to prisoners. We highlight a Christian Prisoner of conscience each month and encourage members and friends to pray for that person . There is a special Sunday each year when we remember the Suffering Church.
